CMI Credit Management, LP is the company that's calling ... back in May I had to disconnect my service with AT&T Home Entertainment to upgrade to another AT&T service called U-Verse. Of course they had to install new equipment and the guys installing the new service could not take the old equipment with them even though it was the same company. There also isn't a local place to drop off the equipment - they require you to mail it through UPS to one of their warehouses. I mailed all three boxes back to AT&T on May 23rd. I starting getting calls from 800-543-5788 and then a collection notice followed. CMI associates aren't very friendly ... called AT&T since they never called to say they haven't received the hardware and they stated that they don't have a collection department and send everything directly to CMI Credit Management for collection. Strange thing is that AT&T checked on the equipment and two boxes have been checked in but not the third ... how can this be when they were all sent back in the same box? This seems like a scam to me for someone to earn some extra bucks!

Calls my cell phone which I never give out and says to call. Keeps calling and leaving messages. Haven't called back because it isn't any one I know and probably calling for some one else who owes money.

Everyday I get home, and there's a message or two from 800-543-5578. It's a recording, and it seems to have already started before my voice mail even begins, which is weird. Anyhow, they're apparently trying to collect a debt from a woman I've never heard of before. Isn't it great (sarcasm implied) when someone gives out a fake telephone number, and then allows a complete stranger to get repeated calls regarding a debt that has nothing to do with them.
